CLOSE QUARTERS DEFENSE RECEIVES RECOGNITION FROM GOVERNOR LARRY HOGAN

 

 VIENNA, MD - Close Quarters Defense announced receipt of a citation of recognition from Governor Larry Hogan for extraordinary service to the citizens of the state of Maryland. The Governor’s Citation was presented by Steve McAdams, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives last Tuesday following Governor Hogan’s cabinet meeting on the mid-shore. Governor’s citations are issued to organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the betterment of the Maryland community. 

“We are honored to receive this distinguished recognition from our Governor,” said Duane Dieter Founder and President of Close Quarters Defense. “It is a privilege to equip individuals with important safety training throughout our great state as we seek to support Maryland.”

The Governor’s Citation reads, “Be it Known: That on behalf of the citizens of this State, in recognition of providing more than 30 years of invaluable hands-on training with unique methods of appropriate response under duress to special operations, military units and the civilian law enforcement community, thereby helping to ensure the safety and security of Maryland, as well as the nation, and the world; in as much as Duane Dieter’s Close Quarters Defense System is among the premier defense techniques available worldwide, we are pleased to confer upon you this Governor’s Citation.” Signed, Governor Lawrence J. Hogan Jr., Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford, and Secretary of State John C. Wobensmith.

The visit by the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives to the Close Quarters Defense Eagle Training facility on July 17, 2018 was part of Governor Larry Hogan’s initiative to bring Maryland government to the people and facilitate continued communication between government and citizens to better understand the issues that citizens and businesses are facing in each region.
